What do you love most about being an Ag. Teacher?
My students, I love helping them learn new things and grow! Also being able to teach about something that I love and am passionate about!
What is your biggest challenge as an Ag. Teacher?
Paperwork, parents, grading, and sometimes my students.
What most prepared you for being an Agriculture educator?
Doing the Summer Ag Internship program and working with teachers during the Internship and Student Teaching that made my experience very similar to that of a full-fledged Ag Teacher.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Working with students, collaborating with teachers in my area, necessary paperwork, FFA practices/meetings/activities, and other meetings outside of the school.
If you could describe your career in two to three words what would they be?
Rewarding & Unique
If you could relive one of your most memorable days as a teacher, which day would it be and why?
I don't know probably watching my students reach a major accomplishment or achieve one of their goals.
What personal qualities or abilities do you think are important to being successful in this profession?
Dedication, perseverance, passion, patience, enthusiasm, ability to care for all students, willingness to continue to learn, ability to grow, ability to collaborate and work well with others, ability to use google, and many more!
What would you say to an individual who is considering this profession?
It is one of the most difficult but rewarding professions out there, but even on your worst day there is always something to make you smile.
What have you learned thus far in your teaching career that you wish you would have known when you first began teaching?
Teaching isn't about delivering the perfect lesson most of the time things are not going to go how you planned and you just have to be able to roll with it. What matters the most is the relationships that we develop with our students.
